Licence agreement

The Licence Agreement applies to all information submitted by Collecting Institutions for inclusion on the AMOL website. It outlines how the AMOL project will use the images and material provided by the contributing Collecting Institution, including any restrictions to how the images or material can be used. It allows the AMOL project to promote these images and material across Australia and internationally.

In completing and signing this Agreement, the organisation provides assurance that they are either the owner of the copyright of the digitalised images and material provided for AMOL, or that they have obtained all the necessary authorisations, permissions, licences and clearances that are required to enable them to use the material in this way. That is, the organisation has obtained the proper copyright clearance for images and material it is providing for inclusion on the AMOL site.

The Licence Agreement gives an assurance that the AMOL project will refrain from authorising an infringement of any intellectual property rights in the images and material provided by contributing organisations. It also assures that a warning will be placed on the site about unauthorised use of the images and material, including copying. This is an added form of protection for contributing organisations, and it ensures that the integrity of the images and material is maintained.

Note that the Licence Agreement does not change the ownership of the intellectual property of the image or material. In addition, the licence is non-exclusive. This means that organisations are free to use the images and material they provide under the licence, elsewhere including other Internet sites.

Please return signed Licence Agreements by mail to:
