Andrew "Mick" Frame was born at Weston in 1911, his father was Edward John Frame, a miner who worked for the East Greta Colliery. Mr Frame worked also as a miner at Hebburn No.2 colliery, starting work in May of 1924 and working there for over 23 years. After a ten year stint at Abermain, he was employed as a first-aid officer at Hebburn No.2, and ended his working career at the Newvale Colliery. In 1962 Mr. Frame entered into local politics, serving as an alderman of the Cessnock Council for 18 years. He also is a life member of the St.Johns ambulance and served 22 years on the board of Kurri Kurri Hospital. Mr Frame's long experience in the mining industry and his recollection of his earlier life growing up in Weston make for an interesting and informative interview.
