Linda Ferguson is the Evaluation and Visitor Research Manager at the Australian War Memorial, a position she has held since 1996. Linda has been working in the museum industry since 1986, specialising in evaluation and visitor research since 1995. She has extensive experience in exhibition evaluation in areas as diverse as military history, science, cultural heritage, art, and technology.
Linda's other areas of interest and expertise include leisure and
tourism research; performance measurement; organisational learning; and
the use of evaluation in helping organisations meet the diverse needs
of audiences and customers. Her work at the Memorial has highlighted
a number of issues, including ways in which ‘the enemy' can be
represented in exhibitions to meet the conflicting needs of different
stakeholders. Linda is the past president of the Evaluation and Visitor
Research Special Interest Group of Museums Australia.
She has a BA (Hons) in Communications from the University of Technology,
Sydney, and a Master of Assessment and Evaluation from the University
of Melbourne.
